Our local newspaper had an article this last week, about a man in the area who some call “Doctor Diesel”. He wants to share information on how easy it is to run biodiesel along with other alternatives. While I found the article interesting, I was surprised to hear algae may be a possible replacement to fossil fuels. We have a large lake here in Klamath Falls Oregon that is full of algae and it has been more of a burden than a blessing. Even though the type of algae they are researching to use for energy is not the same kind, it is amazing that something so simple could one day be an answer to the world's every increasing energy needs.
After doing just a bit of research online, the potential of algae for energy is amazing. It was only a few months ago that I found articles on government sites that claimed a small 100 square mile area in Nevada, if used for solar energy, could provide our nation's energy needs. Now, they are saying that simple little algae could also do the same. It is amazing to say the least!
One nice factor about Biodiesel is that it can reduce emissions by up to 90% !!! This could help with global warming not to mention make large metro areas much more livable!
Here is a couple links to look at:

Now if we can figure a good diesel motor replacement for most cars so people do not have to buy new ones, simply replace the motors (and other required parts) and clean our nation up while at the same time removing our dependence on foreign oil!
Very exciting! The future is looking very promising if people can just rise above the greed!
