While I have been busy the last week or so and have not had a lot of time to write a post, I just got so fed up, that I thought I was going to explode, so I will do it here .

Just a few weeks ago, Bush came under fire for commuting the sentence of Libby, and Hillary made remarks about this (even though her unfaithful husband, who was the first President to perjure himself and nothing happened, no jail time or anything), had a Party giving out pardons.

Today, Democrats are upset because they think the Republican Senator David Vitter should resign because he was on the list of for committing adultery with a prostitute several years ago.  Funny how those same Democrats were not calling for Bill Clinton to step down after his adulterous affair whereby he lied under oath (yes, Vitter committed an illegal act because she was a prostitute, but Clinton did worse in perjuring himself).   It is simply hypocrisy, yep, that is what it is!  No, not Vitter, Democrats expecting Vitter to resign but did not ask for Clinton to do the same.  It is Party Hypocrisy!

I do not recognize this government lately.   First we have all this ‘Non-binding resolutions” junk, where they wasted time and considerable money to pass through something that does nothing but play games.  Then there was the war spending, where they wasted billions passing bills that they knew would be vetoed as Bush had promised.  Then there was that Immigration waste of time and money.

Now, they plan to have an “all-nighter” to try forcing a vote on IRAQ…  Is this entertainment?  Are we doing nothing more than watching poorly written reality show?  Sure seems like it at times, but at the cost of millions to billions of dollars for them to play these games.

Some time ago, I had to choose a Party to register to vote and while I am a conservative, I registered as a Republican, but even then I did not want to be labeled into a box.  Never could understand why we even needed to select a “Party”.

Well, the divide seems to continue to grow between the different Parties and, as it has been for ages but worse now, the focus does not seem to be about what is best for the country, but simply who’s Party is in office.  There is not real talk or reasoning on issues and it does not seem like they are listening to the people, it is nothing more than a battle of the Parties.

If you look at the stats of how many people are pleased with Congress and the President, they clearly are not doing their job, as they seem to represent only a small portion of the population.  For the new Congress, it seems they have tunnel vision and only see IRAQ.  Where are all the other issues facing this nation?  Oh yeah, we had that silly immigration thing there for a couple of weeks, just to show how out of touch with the people they all are (yes, I know it got voted down but not until a grassroots effort was launched to threaten them or it probably would have passed).

Okay, let us just start on Immigration, why is nothing happening?  Is it that the people do not want anything to happen?

There is a little division with the public on exactly what needs to be done, but recent polls show that most people want the government to secure the borders, not just promise or plan for it a few decades away, they want a secure border now!  That is what the “people” say, so why is this not an all-nighter to make sure our borders are secure?  Simple, they are not listening, both Democrats and Republicans.  We practically have to have a cavity search to board a plane, our email and internet activity is always monitored without our consent, privacy is a thing of the past, but a person can practically drive a tank across our borders and not be noticed…  STUPID!

I think the real “stupid” part though is how they have managed to get a large number of the population to be divided by Party.  As I mentioned before, it is no longer about what is best for the country, but who’s Party is in office.  They have taken “We the People” and made it “We the Democrats” or “We the Republicans”.  It is not longer that people think the opposing Parties have difference of views, the line is more that they opposing Parties are not American, they are evil and must be kicked out of office at all cost.  Maybe it is time to scrap the “Party” mentality!

Lately, my wife and I have considered going in and changing our voter registration to “Independent” just to help the number of the two main parties in this country decline.  Of course, that might be as silly as all those children who run this country…
