New report from Penn State University said they have found a way that under optimal conditions to provide gigabit bandwidth over power lines and possibly hundreds of megabits bandwidth to home users.

It is hard to imagine what you would do with that as most of the Interent is built up of largely, text based sites in HTML.  Of course, it would be great for video on demand, full screen video phones, and would take online games to a new level, that is for sure!

Will be interesting to see how communications change as high speed internet filters through to the masses.  There was a report about a month ago that said broadband has overtaken dialup in the USA, that is, more than 50% of the Internet surfers are using broadband.
