Cannot express how tired I have been of that popup window that asks if you want to restart your computer after you install a Windows update.  It asks you if you want to restart but when you select the option to restart later, it prompts you in another 10 minutes until you give up and restart the computer.  Well, I just posted a tip about getting around this problem, on my other site:

For a few years I kept up with TechTV fairly regularly until they were bought out and in my opinion, anything worth while died.  Tonight I noticed that Patrick Norton and Robert Heron on:

Looks like they have been there for a while!

Microsoft is doing a great job on their new version of MS Office.  Today, I had a need for enabling and disabling the “as you type” auto checker for grammer and spelling.  I through together a macro to toggle it on or off and added it as a button to the “Quick Access Toolbar” (that is the one at the very top left of MS Word 2007.  Very handy to say the least!

Here is the tip I posted on the macro and how to install it:

While using Word 2007 today, I noticed that the “recent documents” list (when you go to open a document) has the ability to “pin” files.  The little “pin” type ocon on the right side of a recent document allows you to “pin” that document so that it does not leave your recent document list.  Another VERY handy feature!

Another thing I noticed when building and assigning the macro to toggle spelling and grammer checking, is that the settings for the Quick Access Toolbar can be made “per document”.  This is great since I can add featues I use all the time in my Journal to that toolbar!

The beta is confirming I will be updating my MS Office to the 2007 version next year!

Ever need more desktop space for all the windows you have open?  When you have several open winodws, do you have a hard time finding the one you want?  Try out this new free utility called Deskloops that scrolls you windows left or right and has a quick access thumnail strip of all your open windows.  They have a video demostration (click on video tutorials):

The other site is Google's new FireFox browser extention called Google Browser Sync.  This extention will synchronize your browser settings such as bookmarks, history, cookies and saved passwords across all your computers.  Now when you are at home or work you can have all your favorites there for easy access or your desktop machine and your laptop can share the same settings.  Of course, this only works if you are using the Firefox browser:

Microsoft has opened the Beta 2 version of Windows Vista to the public along with automatice sign up for the Release Canidadate 1 version when it comes out!  Hurray!!!  Now if everyone would stop downloading Windows Vista so I can give it a try :)
